Dear friends, please tell me what is the maximum size of *.png files that one can render in Apo 7X with flam3 engine.
Sometimes I "ask" it to make a rather big file (>20 mpix) and after say 20 - 30 hrs of rendering I have a *.bmp with its poor quality and inability to be postprocessed for print. I want to know the maximum possible size (Mpix or MB) of *.PNG beforehand.
Or does it depend on the PC configuration (say, amount of RAM)?
Thank You in advance,
Anthony.

Wait longer.

At least that's my instinctive response - what that actually means with respect to Apo in terms of the user parameters controlling rendering time/detail level I'm not sure as I don't use Apo but you need to set it to do more iterations (a lot more by the sound of it e.g. *10).
Assuming you're using some non-linear modifiers then render times to get decent renders of "thin" areas in high resolution can take a very, very long time, in either 2D or 3D (same goes for "thin" areas of attractors in chaoscope).
Note that I'm talking potentially several days on say an I7 and maybe weeks on older processors such as a P4.

But there is another issue with respct to flames and strange attractors, often what looks like a good result at say 1280 pixels wil not work so well at say 4096 pixels.
