I've started some zoom out sequences from places near e350 at highest resolution possible of 3840px in the BS fractal. Impatiently I've cancelled the first few, since I thought it was occupying my (at the moment only) computer too much. The calculation times did not seem to go down either, at least I thought:

Fortunately they do!

This was done in Open Office, but now I'm thinking to write a bash script to run on every zoom out seq. Just run from command line in the current working dir and it should output a png from gnuplot. How many of you use KF in Linux anyway?

I have an at least 6 year old 32-bit dual core laptop that I am only using for rendering my animations.

With perturbation and series approximation old hardware can be reused!!!

Btw did you know that you can "mirror" the render from the menu "Action->Special->Special->Mirror"?
That makes the view being mirror around the center along the x-axis.
It only works surprisingly far away from the final Minibrot, about 1000 times less magnified, up to about half the render.
So if I have a minibrot at e300, I activate mirroring (while the reference is calculating and not in the middle of the perturbation calculation) at about e297 and turn it off at about e151. It saves some time, but requires some synchronization and examination is needed afterwards on the joints to make sure the render went well.

youhn, your graph is on a burning ship zoom, right?

Since the burning ship doesn't have any Series Approximation, the time will decrease rather linearly for each frame.
I think the times for a Mandelbrot fractal decrease more exponentially since S-A is more effective on less complex locations (i.e. more evenly iteration count values).

I don't know if it is even possible to make Series Approximation on the Burning Ship's absolute value formulas, since it is based on Taylor Series based on derivations. I hope someone with fresh mathematics skills would take the challenge some day...

Yes, it's the burning ship. Now at work, but will post some images of the (still work-in-progress) sequence when I get home.
