v1.8.9 not updating m3i filenames

Not sure, but I have the feeling I've had this issue with some previous version of M3D; but can't find the ref here.   
Anyway, my prob is that when I open a saved m3i file, make some mods and then save the adjusted file under a
new name, M3D reverts to the original filename when further adjustments are made, rather than retaining the new
filename. Unfortunately, this has led to numerous inadvertent overwrites - I think?! - and is causing me
great confusion and uncertainty when saving updated m3i's. 
Just a thought, but I'm wondering if this may possibly have something to do with the new 'attach title to params'
feature?
