.....and in a galaxy far, far away....lol!

My real name is Jim and I use to make 2d fractals long ago mainly with various versions of Tierazon.  I had posted a good deal of them on a Yahoo fractal group under the user name of "digitalman1970".  I had slightly over 3,000 fractals at one time, but my hard drive crashed and had no backup at the time.  :-(

But, that was long ago and times have certainly changed.  Now we are living in the age of 3d fractals and from what I have seen here on this site and elsewhere, they are absolutely amazing!  I've downloaded both Mandelbulb3d and Mandelbulber.  I have no clue as to what I am doing, but to me, that is a big part of the fun.  I never really understood Tierazon, but that never stopped me from creating fractals.  I am sure I will not be able to post anything close to the incredible fractals that are posted here, but I do like to share and maybe I will be able to come up with some "half-decent" fractals.  I do not have any versions of Photoshop or any other type of editing software, so all of my fractals will be unadulterated.

I guess that's all for now, just mainly wanted to say "Hello!" to fellow fractal folks!

Hey there, James G. MacPherson (or "Jimmy Mac").   Greetings, and welcome to this particular forum !!!    cheesy

I do remember you from awhile back ago, just cannot recall which group/s you were in at the time.   But I think you hailed from Runnemede, New Jersey.   And besides Tierazon, you had also used ChaosPro, Flight From Fractal, and UF.

Ahhh, yes...  3-D fractals are all the rage now!!!   And the two you just downloaded are probably the most popular at the moment within this forum, and a few other places as well.   The only other one that seems to have a large following at the moment is the JWildfire application.   Looking forward to see what you come up with.    cheesy

As to graphic editing applications, all you really need are IrfanView and the GIMP.

Hi Paul,

It's nice to see a familiar face.  You remember me, I remember you too.  I've made a couple so far with Mandelbulb 3d, but nothing interesting enough to post yet.....still fooling around with the program.  I might have something by tomorrow.

Hi Paul,    It's nice to see a familiar face.   You remember me, I remember you too.

BTW, I see you still have your old web pages available at:  http://www.tagged.com/about_digitalman
So maybe you did not lose everything with the hard-drive crash, or at least the 235 showing there.   Also, I have quite a few of your images from "Fractal World", if any of those are different from your web pages.

No hurry on posting anything, there have been several here that have waited months (if not years) before they ever got around to posting.   And some people still linger in the background without posting at all.   So take your time, and when you feel you have something to share, or wish to ask questions about anything, then we will all still be here.    cheesy
