fractal art of illusion

I'm doing a new project to make fractals in art of illusion. If you haven't used it before art-of-illusion is a fantastic free 3d modelling package, like blender but easier to use. And you can write scripts for it.

So anyway, what I'm really trying to do is make 'high entropy' versions of all the fractal classes in this table- http://sites.google.com/site/mandelbox/what-class-of-fractal
High entropy roughly means more natural or more common or more likely examples of each class. Just as a rock is more likely to be lumpy than a perfect sphere, in nature fractals are more likely to look like a sea sponge than a menger sponge.

I have 28 to make, here are the first two, void-cluster and cluster. As you can see, reflections / refractions / depth of field etc all come for free.

Some more, the family of trees, experimenting with rendering.
I just realised yesterday that the classification applies to non-fractal structures too, like a non-fractal sponge or a non-fractal void-foam, where all the bubbles would be about the same size.

Can you share a taste of what the scripting in that environment looks like?

Here's how to make a brush http://aoi.sourceforge.net/docs/scripttut/chapter5.html, it's more or less the Java language. I'll post my script when it's all working.

I've finally made a tree-sponge, which is a tree that is packed together, a bit like broccoli.

I have made this all into a plugin, to use it you need to install art of illusion which is free: http://www.artofillusion.org/downloads

Then copy this .jar file into C:\Program Files\ArtOfIllusion\Plugins
Then run art of illusion and click on 'Elementary' in the tools menu.
