I didn't do a very good job bringing out the transparency and refraction, so I'm a little dissapointed with this one. I also should have animated one of the other transforms, after the first few frames, it looses a lot of it's coolness.

7 hours to get 84 out of 360 frames.

good work, again.  Question about your first comment - "didn't do a very good job bringing out the transparency and refraction.." - what is refracting?  Is the fractal semi-transparent or translucent?

Yes, that's where I've been spending most of my energy, and it actually does work correctly now. I've just got to design a good flame to show it off.

The refraction is proportional to the density of the flame, so the effect fades to nothing on the fringes, and is quite pronounced as the density reaches the maximum.

But it's a tough ballancing act to ballance opacity and refraction so one doesn't overshadow the other and both are readily noticeable.

I'm getting better at it over time, and refining the parameters to make it easier. Things have been progressing in leaps and bounds the past few weeks, hopefully I'll have better examples very soon.

Thanks
