I gotta agree with the others here - The first one is very pretty!
Put those colors on the second animation and you'll be on to something...

Yeah.. for some reason everyone (including others I've shown, non-forums) has told me they don't like the coloring of the second animation, although to me it is pleasing.
I had a dream that I was in hell among eternally hungry rotting corpses devouring one another and fighting among themselves around a vast lake of fire. Everyone feared and avoided the lake of fire for it burned away their flesh and caused great pain, but I felt that it would purify me. I walked into it despite the pain of my necrotic flesh burning away. I swam far out into the lake of fire to find other beings who had been brave enough to enter the lake, and the purified beings were beautiful beings of liquid metal. I knew true ecstasy. I knew what it was to face my fears and emerge purified, strong, and true. Of course, now the beings that fear the lake would fear me, for my molten metal body radiated the heat of a 1000 suns. I knew that one could not truly be purified unless one walked into the lake willingly, for one's will must touch the fire as well, so to attempt to embrace the fearful zombies was pointless.
Thanks for the comments all. They are all 5d, hue/saturation/luminescence complex compound fractals. Actually, they don't take too long to render (for 500x500 animations), only a few hours. The lake of fire one can be rendered in cooler colors very easily, as I saved the fractal parameters. All I need to do is set the hue (which is a color wheel with values from 0 to 6) to +/- 3 and it will be cooler...

I like the coloring in the second one quite a lot! I just think placing it in the same post as the first one de-emphasizes it a bit. I've seen many similar color schemes to the second one, but very few like the first! That's probably why it's getting the majority of the comments.

Did you actually feel the pain in your dream? If so, I'm amazed you didn't wake up. Perhaps it was a waking dream, but were you asleep? Either way, it creates a good story. You should start a book or send a script to someone and get it copyrighted asap.

Sockratease- I'm glad people like it. I don't want to do it toooo much.. but perhaps a few more are on the way. I'm avoiding a lot of movement in the videos for now, as I like to emphasize the various interesting patterns 5d + hslmode coloring can make at low iterations (for the time being).
Thunderwave- Pleasure tends to wake me, pain... doesn't. I was conscious in the dream, in the sense that I was making decisions based on what I felt to be true, but I don't know if it would qualify as a waking dream, as at the point I realized it was a dream (when I was in ecstasy with the other beings that had braved the lake of fire) I awoke.

ChaosPro. It's an excellent piece of freeware written by Martin Pfingstl.
The various formulas I've written (for ChaosPro) are available on the website (and various threads here). I am pretty sure the 5d complex compound is available in "benesi set simplified" (which I'd recommend anyways, less options= easier to get a feel for, and many of the options are unnecessary for many of the fractal types). You'll need the "benesi coloring.ccl" file in your formula directory as well (it's available in the ChaosPro online database). I think I explained a little about how to use the coloring/fractal formulas in the other thread I posted here recently (a couple threads down from this one, a 4d animation I believe).
I've since revised both the coloring and fractal formulas, and added a 6 dimensional formula set as well (which is... just amazing). I've drastically increased the variety of details in the higher dimensional fractals by implementing a new type of Julia (the various r2modes in the 5d set, or r2mode box checked in the 4d set (or 3d?)), as well as a new type of Mandelbrot (once again the various r2modes in the 5d set). I'm pretty sure the r2mode set isn't complete in the online database formulas, although I'm using one I've written that has every possible permutation (for both 5d and 6d r2mode Julias and Mandys). When I've finalized the formulas, I'll probably put them up, depending on various factors.
