hi guys,

Just saying hello to you all smiley    \o
I am Rackdoll,
am addicted to code...image processing in particular.
I code in Flash Actionscript3.0 and Java.
Love Maths, but...
Hoping to learn more about fractals and all its magic here smiley

Feel free to give me a shout or heads up on good reads!
Am very willing to dive in and fractalize myself cheesy

hello and welcome to the forums, as a starter here is a lsystem implementation by me made in adobe's flex:

and just because you mentioned actionscript, here is the supershape implementation as flex component:

Hello and Welcome!

I tried making a Fractal Generator in Flash, but gave up.

I took over 20 years off of programming, and it's all so different now, I need to start from scratch again  (I missed the whole introduction of Object Oriented Programming!).

Good Luck with your project.  I'm sure there are many here who can help   cheesy

so, what are you interested in most ? classic mandelbrot fractals ? lsystems ? iterated function systems ? 3d frractals ?
there is so much, just browse through the forums to find something you like

Am interested in all kinds of visual fun.
I am currently still tackling the actual fractal equations ( starting with z=z^2 + C )
Having trouble to wrap my head around denoting imaginary numbers and how you can draw a fractal on screen,
Tradionally i think in pixel(x,y)     so thinking about z = z^2 + C   i am having trouble wrapping my head around how to translate that into points to set in the bitmap..

Can anybody help me on my way ?
i know C = A+Bi    but if Bi is imaginary, how do i note it ?

have been browsing but, as i am still an00b at this, its hard to wrap my head around the actual notations in pixel coordinates.  huh?

a good starter is:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L-system
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandelbrot_set

those topics are discussed here from time to time, but as learning i would prefer the wiki pages....,

Also got the Cantor covered...
Seems pretty straight forward..

Isent there also a mathmatical solution for the Cantor and Algae ?

Greetings, and Welcome to this particular Forum !!!    smiley

Well, you have come to a very good place to gather information on just about anything that has to do with fractals (and several things that do not).  If it cannot be found within the Forums, then I am sure somebody here will know where to find more details.
