To give you an idea of the possible camera movement in M3D, have a look at this video I did last week :

I am amazed by your navigation bib, must have spent hours just preparing that?   shocked

I get the idea, might use this in the next one...  snore

Just don't overdo the "drunken steadicam operator" style. That still makes me as sick as it did the first time I ever saw it. It has its place, just not as default style for longer durations.

I don't remember exactly, I would say between 1 and 2 hours to setup the animation. Once you get more confident with using the different buttons to pass the parameters between the 3 windows (the main one, the 3D navigator and the animation maker), it becomes very easy. In fact, you can use only the navigator and the animation maker : click on the "Ani (f)" button to directly send the parameters from the navigator to the animation maker. The main window is optional and can be used just from time to time to check some keyframes in a large format.

BTW, Jesse, the shortcuts in the navigator are cool.....if you have a QWERTY keyboard, which is not my case (AZERTY)

Maybe I was drunk when I did it, who knows cheesy Did you notice that I was a fractal Bachius (the god of wine and party!)

Didnt knew that type, so changing q+a and allowing also z for upwards should help as option...

About antialiasing: 2x2 and 3x3 settings are really slow, maybe in 10 years ok.
But setting the "smooth normals" option in the calculation tab to 1 or 2 helps removing much noise.

Getting the hang of the 3D navigator and to get rid of the clippings, small gif-test:
