Rendered using subblues PixelBender implementation of the Mandelbulb in Photoshop CS4.
The background is the first Hubble ultra deep field image with a few dabs from the clone brush for good measure.
The view is from the "bottom" of a power 3.4(...something) mandelbulb with some camera tilt.

This would make an interesting "avatar" image for someone's Membership icon.
