Electric fungi vines are found attached to north facing rock faces in the Martian southern hemisphere.

These amazing fungi store the suns energy during the Martian day, then at night the energy is used to attract and kill Martian moths on which the fungi vine feeds.

The stored energy is released as fractal current which both illuminates the glow pads and supplies a lethal charge to the moths attracted.

Another example of clever Martian sentient fungi.
