Hey everyone,

I thought you'd all enjoy seeing some of this.  The following images are details of internal defects in a sample of steel that I took at work with a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).  When I was looking at them I was thinking of all the funky shapes I've been looking at lately in M3D, which makes sense since fractals are used in fractography anyways (though this isn't, technically, a fracture.  It's non-consolidation at the center of a large casting).  Micron bars are provided in the upper right for scale.  The piece we're looking down on is about 1/8" x 1/8" (.32 cm x .32 cm).  All discrete information has been removed from the images, so no worries there.  Enjoy!
