I see reference to something called a "wrapper". What is that and what is its use? Also what is iLivid?

A wrapper basically an app that you install other software inside. For example you can install Windows software inside one to run on mac or linux. The wrapper contains the framework and dll library files needed to communicate with the host computer to allow system resources to be allocated to your 'wrapped' program.
