Nobel Peace Prize gets stranger with each new year. Anyway, maybe there should be a better one, say Nobel Prize in Mathematcis.

All the natural sciences, of whom Nobel Prize is given depends on mathematics as main instrument. Exept nobel prize in literature. Without math there would be no e=mc2 or even facebook. But by tradition they don't have Nobel Prize in Mathematics. In my opinion, this tradition is completely wrong. Mandelbrot should had recieved Nobel Prize as Grigori Perelman should had.

Maybe Nobel Prize in Mathematics and Computer Sciences would be the best choice as this would fitt modern realities. Without good soft it would be very hard to find higgs boson.

The peace nobel prize is a bit tough to decide on, honestly.
However, why there is no math and for that matter why there is no biology is historically understandable. Since this all came from Nobel when he saw how his TNT got abused, it's all cut to what he judged to be interesting. And back then, his reasoning wasn't all that off.
It's just that science has changed a lot while the tradition hasn't. And it really shouldn't. A changing tradition is kind of not a tradition at all.

Though there are other prizes that specifically cover those subjects, neglected by Nobel, like the fields medal.
And Grigory Perleman did a great job but he essentially didn't want that prize so why would you give him any other one? Better support somebody who did something remarkable beyond his work. There are rumors that the so-called abc-theorem is solved. This is also a really deep problem of similar scope to what Perelman did.

Pelerman had become pretty popular among russian nationalists. Its pretty funny, how they claims that Pelerman is pure russian and paragon of being russian. And at the sime time they sayes that Xenia Sobchak is not russian, when she are 100%. Probably this have much to do with social issues.
