How to achieve a certain effect in Apophysis (any version)

Hi, all your fractal experts out there.  I have a question.  I recently discovered Apophysis and I have been fractaling my head off.  I have generated some interesting things, but from some of the images I have seen of the web, I have a VERY long way to go.  There is one effect in particular, done in some fractal jellyfish by an artist on DeviantArt called 1articfox.  Her work is beautiful!!  She does these fractal jellyfish and I am in awe.  I have been trying to recreate something that looks remotely like what she did, but I can't seem to get there.  If anyone out there can help me, particularly with the twisting ribbon effect on the tentacles, I would be much indebted.  The link to her fractal jellyfish gallery is:

I attached (I hope) one of the images from her work.  So amazing to me.  If the image doesn't show, please click on the link and check out her "jellyfish".  In her gallery, she also does some pretty impressive Dreamcatchers, too.  Really stunning stuff.
