Hi fellow fractal fans, I work in the film industry now, but did a couple of CompSci papers about 10 years
ago. I have loved and looked for fractals ever since first learning of the coastline story in school.
I made a 2d fractal generator in Java that is unilke any other that I've seen (having not looked here yet),
using no complex numbers, just the self-similar application of a simple sequence of angles to be turned by
a line. I had every intention of finishing it and releasing it somewhere like here, but it fell off the radar.
Now I've got Java stuff working again, I could do so. It's a little bit like the pythagorean tree generators
whose jargon I can't quite remember, except there are no node reference trees and the end of the line is
free from having to follow back up to the origin.
The UI is pretty codey, but graphical. I was learning how to use menus before the last jar was made,
doubt I'll have the time to do that this round either. It can make pretty pictures and has colouration
settings, but is mostly interesting to see what common fractals can be generated from such simple inputs
and basic functions. The Koch Curve is generated from 0,1,-2,1.
Anyway, this is supposed to be my intro, so yeah that's why I'm here. Any guidance on how/where/if
to post it would be appreciated. I'll go put some of its output in the fractal gallery soon, probably.
I used to play with a few pretty generators, made wallpapers as you do.
Oh yeah! Earlier this year I built a few big 3d fractals in Minecraft, I'll be sure to post pics/schematics of
those in coming times. Cheers!
Greetings, and welcome to this particular forum !!!
Is your fractal generator a stand-alone application?? You know you could make it into a web page app, there have been many fractal sites that have done something similar.
And since you have already started a new Topic, and replied to one elsewhere, the
How portion of your question seems to be already answered by yourself.

Where to post, there are some main Categories where all of the Boards are grouped, and many of the Boards have sub-Boards, possibly several levels deep. Just do a bit of browsing to get familiar with where the basic areas are, then find the best place for your own Topic, or just reply to an existing Topic. If the Topic seems to be in the wrong place, then one of the Moderators will most likely move it to a more appropriate Board.
