There are several strong shapes and dynamic relationships in this image and I've gone back and forth about what to emphasize in the composition. This is what I've settled on at the moment.

C & C welcome (especially 'C')...

This is really cool. I would suggest that the best thing to emphasize would be the contrast between the two ideas, both the gnarl noise and the smooth shape. Contrast rocks!

Thanks very much Matt. The balance between the texture and smooth is a subtle thing. Too much one way or the other and one dominates instead of having a dynamic tension.
