Hi from another fractoholic

Hi everyone! I joined this forum in the hope of finding an answer to a question. The 'Amazing Box' fractal: I'm fine with how it's generated; very elegant and simple. My question is; in Mandlebulb3D, what is the formula marked _Amazing Box doing? I know it is not meant as a 'stand alone' formula; I like the facinating architecture in combining it with the Amazing Box, but I like to understand what is going on and there's no desciption tagged to it.
I must also thank (or curse, considering the amount of time spent when I should be practising (I'm a musician)) Jesse for the amazing software; it's out on it's own in comparison with any others I've tried.

Hi and Welcome to FF.

_Amazing Box is the same as Amazing Box, without the +c at the end.

So if you do
F1: _AmazingBox
F2: _addC
You should get more or less the same as Amazing Box (except that a bailout test is performed in the middle)

I have no idea, only Jesse can answer this one, maybe Darkbeam can add it in a new formula. FYI Jesse writes the program and the main formulas and Darkbeam is the mad hacker who found a way to add formulas.

There was never such a parameter, iirc it was added later on to the AmazingBox formula, not to the _A... version where the value is internally fixed to 1.
Could add the parameter to it if i find some time, need some work to initialize the new parameter to 1 if old paras are loaded (i guess this is still not implemented).
