Smooth animation, once and for all!

There have been a few posts about this.
I also think the question has been formulated good enough, but I for one am not yet satisfied with any answer.

It seems that those who answer the question are TRYING to help out instead of actually helping out.

Smooth Animation, how do you do it?

If you look at any of Krzysztof's clips on YouTube (aka Buddhi)... You'll see that his animations are really amazing.
Camera changes direction, sometimes goes slightly sideways and just generally moves really nice.

Could you please explain HOW you made these videos. The one with the lightball flying alongside is breathtaking!
If anyone else has been able to make videos (flights, zooms) of this magnitude, please share the knowledge.

If you look at this video, you'll see that in the end (with the 3 short flights) the movement is NOT smooth.
The percieved speed of the flying is also heavily affected by the proximity of the fractal.

dunno what you understand under "smooth".
never saw buddhis videos and at first glance i can't find them, but my humble reciept for camera mooves is simple.

• switch on absolute camera movement
• choose a "good" value for this movement (this might be the trick)
• move only with the windroses or the forward/backward button
• allways use the same amount of movement steps between two keys

this one isn't made with any kind of smoothness in mind and the last step of my list i ignored here completely, but imho the moves look smoth enough for me.
but this is a camera animation only.

Taurus, amazing in every aspect.
One of the most enchanting videos I've seen so far.
That's what I call smooth. I really love the organic/technic style.

Let me ask you... Did you fly around in that video at the same zoomlevel?

I've had some success with camera movement and keyframes, but when it comes to path, I'm absolutely clueless.
I haven't been able to record a smooth flightpath though, so anyone who's had any luck with that, please do share.

except the initial approach - yes. the only way i found to get a relaxed movement. especially zooming out (increasing the zoom level) leads to some nasty zigzags.

Well, it's quite obvious how he got the light to fly alongside him. Keyframe 1: Light close to viewer. Keyframe 2: Light close to the viewer, viewer has moved. To get from key 1 to key 2, they have to move at the same speed, and so go alongside each other.
