Kali-related, mirrored in x and y and then subjected to:

x = x / 2(y+1)

before being fed through z = zc + 1 + 1/(zc + 1).

The speckliness is despite very heavy antialiasing (depth 3!); it's a general problem with exponentials, which cram very narrow and stretched features together into exponentially tepering bundles.
