Hi all,

Some of you will know that I have taken part in an "Open Studio" event in North Wales called Helfa Gelf (Art Trail) for the last few years.
In the event many artists of all types open their doors to the public and demonstrate/talk about their work etc. - the 2010 event extended through Flintshire, Denbighshire, Conwy and Gwynedd.

Helfa Gelf : http://www.helfagelf.co.uk/

As part of Helfa Gelf 2010 there is now an Art Exhibition at Bodelwyddan Castle featuring the works of around 20 artists including 3 works by myself, the exhibition runs until 13th March and I highly recommend a visit if you can make it:

http://www.bodelwyddan-castle.co.uk/exhibitions.html

Bodelwyddan Castle is halfway between St. Asaph and Abergele and access by road is straightforward with the castle being just off the A55:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode&q=Bodelwyddan+Castle&sll=53.273837%2C-3.504295&sspn=0.071446%2C0.222988&ie=UTF8&hq=Bodelwyddan+Castle&hnear&ll=53.275068%2C-3.504295&spn=0.068877%2C0.222988&z=13&iwloc=A

Of course if in the area anyway you could also visit my "studio" here in Rhos-on-Sea - open at all time *by appointment*, so just ring on +44(0)1492 540855 or try Skype: "makinmagic1" smiley

Here's my studio:

Nice pictures, David. What I like most is that at first glance they look like paintings (with traditional oil-paints), not computer-generated images.

Good luck Dave.

Great work as usual. Textures and colours you can almost feel through the screen! embarrass

Hi David,

Only just seen this post and sorry I missed your exhibition.
(some other time, maybe)

The reason I am contacting this late is to offer that the picture that follows the red and white one in the Art Trail rotation reminds me of some classical ceiling art.
Like that one (the name of which illudes me at present) that is supposed to look 3D from a point on the floor.

excellent.

Well if you can make it to North Wales in September there are many artists' studios open to visitors on each weekend (Fri,Sat,Sun) as part of the 2011 Helfa Gelf (Art Trail) Open Studio event - just about every visual art featured including my fractal "studio" wink
It's over 5 counties this year - Gwynedd, Conwy, Flintshire, Denbighshire and Wrexham.

http://www.helfagelf.co.uk/

Also myself (and a number of other studios) are open throughout the rest of the year by appointment - see the Artist's pages on the HG site.

There is also an exhibition to see now at Theatre Clwyd, Mold - the North Wales Open 2011 is in the Oriel Gallery there until 12th August:

Hi David,

I don't know if September is do-able yet, but I may get made redundant shortly after and so the world may be my Octopus as they (don't) say.

As it happens, I am in discussions with an excellent real-world artist, in the hope of piggybacking some of his talents and contacts.

I was wondering if you (or anyone) are selling sufficient of your artwork across the various methods online and through exhibiting, to make it pay -
or is fractal art still not yet considered legitimate art (as you 'only' have to change a few numbers to get fantastic pictures) - just like when synthesisers 'did it all for you' in music?

Surely, if you see a fantastic piece of art that you like, it doesn't matter how it was produced.
