New book: "Alt.Fractals: A visual guide to fractal geometry and design"

Hi All!
   Just thought I’d let you all know that I’ve got a book out today:

“Alt.Fractals: A visual guide to fractal geometry and design” ISBN 0955706831

It’s a round-up of a range of fractal types, with an emphasis on “alternative” versions and some of the more obscure info (hence the name). It misses out a few major items, like the Cantor ternary set (too boring), and the Newtonian fractal. I really like the Newty fractal, and think it's really pretty, but I couldn’t think of anything fresh to say about it and pagespace was tight, so out it went.

250+ main diagrams, so there’s probably going to be something in there that’s new or undocumented, through sheer statistics! .

Figures are mono/greyscale, and there’s not much text, I wanted the point of the book to be the diagrams and pictures rather than text descriptions. It's mostly accessible to newbies (just pictures and how-to diagrams), but a little bit of 4D theory stuff snuck in.

There's some discussion of "atomistic" fractals (fractals that have a lower limit, you zoom in, and zoom in, and eventually ... bonk, you hit a brick wall), which I haven't seen discussed elsewhere much. I might start a discussion topic here on them here if people are interested.

Please do. I often think about this when:
1/ I do deep zooms
2/ I think about fractals properties of subsets of the integers

I've had this book for some time and can reccommend it highly....nice piece of work...and a great reference for those of us that are not quite in the fractal genius and scholar like many on here
