This is my current favourite algorithm. Its a Mandelbrot variation created by myself. Randomness is added while iterating. No post processing, Fractint palette.

Nice work.  It must give you a great deal of satisfaction to render fractals on software you authored yourself.

Yes!, im excited like a little child when i find out a new formula by playing around with a function smiley Now comes the "harvest" for me, the engine and the user interface is solid, now i can concentrate on exploring new fractals. It was hard work for me programming at the office, having wife and son and programming in the evenings to make it work. Glad the engine is complete and i can calm down at christmas time.
