Hi all, am still fairly new to using Mac software and I need to crop a fullscreen movie that I've saved using Quicktime. I need a (free) way to crop this movie to a 1024*768 area of the screen - or redo it so that Quicktime only saves the required 1024*768 area in the first place.
Can anyone help ? (I stress the term "free" and would prefer not having to transfer the movie to Windows)

Edit: I should add that the apparently obvious solution of setting the desktop size to 1024*768 won't work because the window I need to record will not go full-screen.

OK, no-one has a solution on the Mac ? (i.e. free software for cropping the pixel size of a video)
So, in desperation, does anyone know a free solution for Windows (XP) ?

Maybe you can try mpeg-streamclip.

Duh ! I forgot about Streamclip - I had the Windows version all the time !
But thanks for pointing out that there's a Mac version - it worked fine but unfortunately I'm not happy enough with the choppiness of the framerate of the original screen grab using Quicktime, my Mac mini (core2duo) is not fast enough to maintain a consistent frame rate while saving  on-the-fly so I'll have to try again on the MacPro at work, hopefully that'll fix the problem.
