Hi there! I'm a university student that's interested in fractals and chaos theory. I believe that the principles and mathematics behind fractals and chaos underlie a deeper truth about the nature of reality around us, and hence am really interested in learning more from this forum. (I also like all of the amazing pictures, who doesn't?)

I discovered this forum through a link to the Mandelbox Fractal, which was really awe-inspiring. I am also coming here to ask about something which I have discovered(?) when tinkering around with some equations, which produced an interesting fractal. I think it's a fractal, though I'm not sure. It's -something-, I'm sure of that.

Thanks guys!

Hello and Welcome!

Many people feel as you do about fractals, while others feel it's either the opposite (the nature of reality around us underlies a deeper truth about the principles and mathematics behind fractals and chaos!) and others still feel that it is all just meaningless coincidence.

Have fun with your explorations, and feel free to post this mysterious fractal-like thingy you mentioned  afro

Oh yes - the Mandelbox was actually discovered by members of this forum, so you certainly came to the right place for that particular item!

Greetings, and Welcome to this particular Forum !!!    smiley

Personally, I doubt if Man will ever learn the "deeper truth about the nature of reality".  At the current rate, humans may not exist much longer on this planet.

But at least we will have some fun and enjoy great images along the way!!!    smiley
