I think I had something like this attached to my leg once, after taking a hike through the woods.  Had a heck of a time trying to get it removed.  I believe it had turned red from feeding on me.     wink

I'll agree it does look like an unpleasant bug of sorts.

Wouldn't like to run into one of these spikeys either...

lol and how i would hate to run into that object if it wasnt capped cheesy

Wow, that spiked one looks painful... like a thistle? Or a burr? And that Red Mandelbeast, beautiful picture, looks like some sort of demon-Mandelbrot.
