News of Titia van Beugen

For those that may not know of Titia, she was the ultimate winner of the last contest held on this Forum (her images won first place in every category).

I have recently gotten news as to her current situation:

    The cancer has returned and spread.  They cannot do anything more.  She has been
    in hospital because fluid gathered in her lungs.  She returned home [Jan. 19, 2010].  
    She is on morphine as needed, and sleeps most of the time.  She isn't able to answer
    mail or anything.  I don't think it will be much longer.

I am sure all of our thoughts are with her and the family:  Chris (husband) and Bianca (daughter).

Another person's message that I received by email a few days after the previous quoted statement:
 

    You heard already that the state of Titia is very bad now, she will probably [pass away] the
    coming days, unless a new wonder will happen.  After very painful stay at a hospital she
    came home again last Tuesday.  Maybe you know that not only liver and bones are touched,
    but also her lungs, so she has breathing problems.  The pains are softened by using a
    morphine pump.  Happily she has a good doctor.

    It will be obvious that Titia cannot mail and that her husband is too busy with nursing and
    other things than to worry him with [requests].  Also emotionally it will be under these
    circumstances not be possible.

I'm saddened to learn that Titia is in such a bad way.  I've very much enjoyed her art, her "story" images were some of my favourites.  Our thoughts and prayers are with her.
