Here is an example of the Mandelbulb produced through Terry Gintz's QuaSZ program:

   

This was saved as an .OBJ file from QuaSZ-x64.  The .OBJ file consists of around 2 million faces (75 MB).  And then it was rendered in Bryce 6.1 to produce the above image.  This is close to the maximum object file size that Bryce can handle gracefully.

Using  

   z= x^2-y^2-z^2+2y(x-z)i+2zxj,z=z^3.5+c

and also

    z= x^2-y^2-z^2+2yxi+2z(x-y)j,z=z^3.5+c
The ones below them are at higher iteration and bailout and grid step.

So now i can look at details in an impressionistic way but plenty to play with and alter to get the best sculpted image, including filters lighting angles palette etc.
