ok people i think i found something worth its own naming and procclamation, i hereby introduce the third defined hybrid fractal type,
beside the

"alternate" hybrid = a formula is alternated, or any other combination of formula order
"interpolate" hybrid = 2 or more formulas are calculated at the same time, and one result for the iterated value is obtained by any form of interpolation

now comes the

"twitch" hybrid = a single addition is performed on the iterated value, but only on certain iteration depths

i am soon going to publish some videos and a resolume vj plugin for that purpose, the result is a smooth control of the resulting hybrid, and offers decent deformation of existant fractals, e.g. the mandelbrot in a julia deform like manner, until now just the pertubation value as starting point for the mandelbrot was available and the mandelbrot lacks some nice and easy deformation possibilities, and here we have them

(this works as a charme for 3d formulas as well)

an example video is uploading and will take some time
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/dJgD1QTGToE&rel=1&fs=1&hd=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/dJgD1QTGToE&rel=1&fs=1&hd=1</a>

in the above video, 3 twitch points are defined, and applied at iteration 10,15,20 maintaining the first 10 iterations of the mandelbrot2
the seeds are then moved in a circle around their seed points, which gives the motion, the latter the twitch point is, the fewer iterations
are affected, and only points that have not bailed out will show its effect, in the video i visit some locations and zoom out showing that
it is just a plain mandelbrot with 3 twitch points

movement speeds are controlled by sound, but this i did not record in that video sad

A timely post Christian, for in the soon to be released in Mandelbulber V2.05 there are "twitch" type functionalities within the experimental extended formulas, plus  an the end of the loop there is a final control which includes applying multiplication to z values at chosen iteration steps within the loop.  So very soon you will be able to experiment the twitch in 3D.  smiley smiley smiley

and here is an example with sound

Neat idea, Christian!  Here's a Newton variant.  I "twitched" every iteration and used 360 twitch points.

lol, dont exxagerate lkmitch, having 3 twitch positions is just enough wink distribute them somehow in the iteration loop, uf is perfect suited for that indeed wink

and here we go with the bad sound quality ffgl plugin tutorial  to be used with resolume:

this looks very interesting. I'll definitely have a closer look into this. I wish I had much more freetime..

yes, i like it very much as well, the niceness of julia transforms was always hard to achieve for other forms, this method is easy and allows very smooth deformations, and is applicable to any formula wink
