Oh the trouble with fractals!

I think that it is great for mathematicians to have their work evaluated on whether it produces interesting fractals under iteration! Not to belittle the thinking they are doing, but to remind them to be accessible in some way to all and that valuation is not just numerical or theoretical correctness, but also aesthetic wrongness!
