To me the old school bailout value of 2 makes slope encoding look better than high bailout value, at least in sparse locations.
Wheb rotating the light angle it looks almost like moving shadows.
The bright rainbow coloring is made by applying a sine wave on the hue parameter of hsb color.

I find this is endlessly fascinating but I understand that it is because whats fascinated me as a child...
