Elephant Nebula

Mandelbrot Set, Kalles Fraktaler, pallet wave coloring. Its's fascinating how the shapes distort and stack on top of each other depending on the way you zoom in. I never used to have the patience for deep zooms, but thanks to perturbation theory, now I'm thoroughly addicted smiley.

Shapes only exists in our heads.

Bit too much in-my-face colors, but those shapes are indeed nicely put together. Density of the color palette also has a big influence on how we perceive the shapes. If you would strech out the color palette over more iterations, it will look more like 1 shape. I bet this image looks good in black-and-white aswell.

Thanks for your feedback! I made an updated version with a lower color density... I guess I'll make a new gallery submission for it. I also like black-and-white pictures, but usually I like B&W best for distance-estimated outline coloring, maybe with a subtle gray gradient on top.
