Hello, my name is Imanuel, I'm 12. embarrass There's a lot that I love, and I think this would be a great place to show and explore and to talk with people. cheesy I use Game Maker 8.0 to quickly make things, it's quite useful. smiley Though, sometimes it's too slow for what I want to achieve, so sometimes I'm trying other languages.

Here are some little projects. cheesy
Here's my Mandelbrot sound generator: https://www.dropbox.com/s/trajkgniootpv3z/Mandelbrot%20sound.exe
1D cellular automata with MIDI notes: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wtadedsm196vtrg/1D%20Cellular%20Automata.exe
Randomly generated programs that generate sounds: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2ry14nop6z3ij2g/Noisey%20%28Random%20programs%29.exe

I'd love to make a Mandelbrot and Mandelbulb explorer, though for the 3D fractals I first need to get used to a language such as C++. smiley

hi there and hello and welcome to the forums,

in fact you have very nice experience already, which is awesome, what language does game maker use ? a basic dialect ?
its just a few steps to get 3d running, it is more the underlying 3d concepts like 3d coordinates, camera and the math that comes with that, and furthermore the actual graphics api is important, either directx or opengl, i would stick to opengl, because it is just the open version of dx, and if you look into the fragmentarium scripts which are following c++ syntax, but use a completely different setup you will learn a lot, have fun and see you around!

I don't want to point you to another web site because ALL the cool fractal stuff is here - but if you want to get going quickly programming 3d fractals try https://www.shadertoy.com/results?query=mandelbulb. It will have lots of examples of setting up the camera/lighting etc.
..and also the user Syntopia has a nice blog blog.hvidtfeldts.net/‎ that explains how distance estimation works. Heady stuff for a 12 year old though! Glad to see you have taken an interest in programming. Always feel free to ask questions here but do a quick search of the topic and you will probably find a thread on it already started.

Okay, you definitely need to develop these a bit to get them the work, the "noisy" one didn't even make any sound at all, but i see you've gotten the basic formula right!
