When I push the usual keys or click them to "walk" or "slide" or turn the viewpoint isn't changing.

Can someone help me? It might be a PEBKAC problem too...

When the camera gets stuck, try ticking the "Fixed Zoom and Steps" box  (click that little "Down Arrow" at the lower right to reveal it, and a few more controls).  You may need to make other adjustments too, like min distance, sliding and walking distance, etc.
