Hello everyone,

Please be aware that I am new to UF and am predominantly just enjoying the idea of creating fractal art, and know little about fractals.  I'm going through all the tutorials etc and getting there slowly.

Here is my dilemma:

As an exercise for myself I decided to open one of the browsed public formulas of the ones already done to try to go step by step in reproducing it.  Copying the layer, copying all the info on the 2 layers location / outside etc and making sure everything is as is on the lovely browsed example.  The item I have open to copy is  Jecky112 in folder  /Public/svg.upr - its a flower style fractal.

So I have patiently copied all the info, copied and applied the colouring algorithms - and now I am lost.

I'm imagining all the information is not available to see or able to be duplicated as its about how it was created...

In abc terms (sorry) would it be possible to tell me if this is possible without simply allowing the programme to reproduce the whole thing for me.

I know I could copy / paste the formulas - but that defeats the object here as I was trying to go through the motions step-by-step of duplicating it....  I appreciate that this alone will not teach me very much, but as it was an exercise I had set myself I would have liked to have achieved the result.

Am I right to assume that unless I copy / paste the formula I would not be able to reproduce it in the setting options allocated?

Sorry for being such a noob - I know I'm at pre-school level here, but I really would appreciate your input.

Many thanks in advance,
Faye

Think I have managed to get there - well its 95% right...

I did not allow for a possible Switch Mode - once done and locations etc reset it all started to come together.

I have no idea how you fractal artists discover these amazing images so deep... but they are truly amazing!

Okay... back to learning to 'think' wink

Hello and welcome to the forums   afro

Glad you got it figured out, mostly.

For a beginner, you're doing quite well!  UF has always confused me.  I just can't get my tiny little brain around it's interface beyond anything but the basics   cry

Haha... well thank you Sockratease (love the name)  - I'm so glad I'm not the only non-genius around here smiley

Yes, I thought I was doing quite well too... I give myself a pat on the back every time I do something that works.  And, just to spoil it, I find all these arty fractals and wonder how they have been created, but I suppose they are more 'discovered' than created aren't they?

Thanks for your reply... much appreciated  smiley

- Faye

PS:  I got it 100% right when I realised one layer needed opacity reducing too  alien
