i am amazed by the pictures as well everytime, this one is especially nice, but he does not write
if it is a mandelbrot, but hence the "seahorse odysee" we might guess that it is a bare mandelbrot wink

Looks like it's pure Mandelbrot, you can find that figure in quite a few places such as for example:
