Not sure that this is a request for a new feature, maybe is already possible

I am trying to do a animation and i would like have a series of frames with a transparent background (i need the transparency for a final edit )

This is already possible for "single frame" render, it is just needed to save not only the image but also the z-buffer , load the 2 togheter in some image editor and  use the z-buffer as "transparency mask "...quicker to do then to explain !

But how to do the same for a animation ?

, i mean it is already possible

1) make a animation  and export the animation as now, as a series of png
2) run again same animation BUT to export now the corresponding Z-buffer as matching series

??

If possible then the rest combine the 2 series using the zbuffer as transparency mask is very easy ...but how to get the corresponding series of z-buffer ?

Hi PhotoComix,

there is a checkbox 'Save Z buffer too' in the animation window.

Hope it helps! smiley
