(click on the image to see a much larger version in my PBase gallery. The larger image looks MUCH better.)

I think this image looks like a piece of embroidered satin.

It's a Mandelbrot set fractal rendered in 3D in FractalWorks at a large size, then downsampled, contrast enhanced, sharpened, and turned into a kaleidoscope in PhotoShop.

If you have FractalWorks version 0.6.0 or later, you can recreate this plot by copying the link below to the clipboard, then selecting "New Fractal from URL in clipboard" in FractalWorks:

It's very nice.

A lot of nice images don't get comments. In fact the whole forum seemed to get quiet a couple weeks ago. I thought HPDZ would show an interest in my Phoenix M-set investigations, but he hasn't expressed any that I've seen.

I'd not worry about it or take it personally.

and a lot of mediocre ones get many; c'est la vie!

your work is indeed very interesting, but i'm personally way too busy to do any fractal coding / investigations at the moment. probably a lot of people are getting going with 2009 roundabout now  afro

... call for comments seems to work... wink

the image as an amazing 3d effect

but after one year now since i overtook the forum i am pleased with the stuff the people upload,
and right now i am preparing the "Fractalforums.com Spring 2009 Fractal Art Contest" i think this
will lead a lot more people to the images and they will beome more comments automatically cheesy

great work, keep on!
