Hi. I'm playing around with the Burning Ship plugin in Fractal Extreme, and I was wondering if anyone has discovered any mini-ships that dip below the surface. In other words, if the burning ship is floating in the ocean, are there any mini-ships beneath the surface?

I've found numerous oddities with this fractal, besides the obvious fact it is discontinuous, or many areas are visibly stretched/distorted, is that in some areas, you think you're zooming towards a mini-ship, only to find you've hit a dead-end. I'm aware of many examples of endless traps within the Mandelbrot set (example, newbies can often end up wasting time by zooming towards the center of endless spirals expecting to find a minibrot), but some places in the Burning Ship fractal seem to be totally devoid of any mini-ships at all. Notably anything below the needle, or under the water. Another odd thing about this fractal is I can clearly see certain dendrites which would normally associated with needle minibrots in the M-set, with solid black areas on the north side.

In any case, I cannot find any Mini-Ships below the surface. I even sometimes will zoom into something that I swear has a mini-ship shape to it, only to find it is full of broken asymmetric dendrites. If I zoom into one of those, I'll eventually hit an empty void at the end of the next periodic cycle when the pattern doubles itself. I'm working on a zoom video right now to illustrate my point.
