Do Mandelbulb 3D is hardware dependant? I tried to use, but get nothing, just a gradient. I have realy archaic pentium 3. With nothing I meant nothing and not very slow but something.

I tried to use Mandelbulb3D on my Apple ][ but I don't even find the port to insert a USB stick. Can anyone help?

Sorry Asdam, just jokin' cheesy I have no idea in fact. I guess that M3D uses some features of more in-built modern processors, but will have to wait for an answer from Jesse or maybe Darkbeam.

The recent dIFS formulas require an SSE2 capable CPU (Pentium 4/Athlon 64 or higher) which should mean that all the rest has to be compatible with an SSE CPU (Pentium 3/Athlon XP or higher) such as yours.

Have you tried an older version?

Beside the new dIFS that require SSE2 (don't wanted to program everything twice here again), m3d should not need a special hardware, x87 is enough.
So the program starts? How does the gradient look like, still somewhat pretty?  Azn

Maybe should try older version. Programs starts and it do generates something, but without normal picture, like when Chaos Pro calculates fractals beeing in inside, but without flaging insede. May PC realy is very old, but since I don't play PC games, its quite OK for me;)

Maybe you can attach a little pic of this gradient?
Would help!

The start image is only a 2d slice from the fractal, so this not really unusual.  But i guess you get not even this?

Pushing "Calculate 3D" generates the total 3d view, in case you missed this because of your native russian language.

Russian is just a second native: I just tried version 1.741 on public PC, and it worked very smoothly. When back in home, should try this version.

I see, so there might be a bug somewhere that prevents older PCs from working...
the problem is that i don't have an older PC no more for testing!

Just found a bug that does SSE2 even the CPU won't support it.

Please download the 1.7.7 version again and confirm if it does work now or still not!  Thank you!

Just downloaded the latest version, can't test now.
But version 1.741 is working on my home PC, and do it pretty fast.

When in latest version of Mandelbulb3D I pressed 3D NAVI (do it is related to Pandora's n'avis? wink) "external exception C000001d" message apears. I made few pics, ilustrating what I got;)

Oh really, cool!

Since the new function in the navi(gator), it is always possible that some glitches can occur, thanks for reporting.
Else the navi becomes a pandora box or so...
