My algorithm in UF is coming along rather well, although I'm still working on it.

- Thanks, I modified the post, now showing just the http: link
- I'm still trying to improve the coloring scheme, as it is not user friendly in its present state, and I don't want to set up a helpdesk once it is published. No idea yet on timing...

After an email form Jos I have started a totally new approach to
heightfields which doesn't use meshes. It is still very experimental and
very buggy but here is an example with a 3500x zoom into the mandelbrot set.
It takes about 5 minutes without antialiasing, and about 1.5 hours with
(which was used for the attached image.)
