I've moved away from my own native Linux software MDZ in favour of using Kalles Fraktaler through WINE in Linux as it is many many many times more efficient. However, one of the things I really miss is the ability to 'zoom in new window'.

'Zoom in new window' is useful as a memory aid when embarking on deep zooms; I always find the first few iterations of creating an morphed/embedded julia set easy to remember via short term memory, but as things progress deeper, and it takers longer to reach each new stage, I tend to forget where I was at the previous iteration and there is nothing to refer back to. If I get distracted and have to do something else for a while then I may as well abandon the zoom altogether.

'Zoom in new window' isn't the ideal way, but it's better than nothing.

Sometimes I reach a stage in the zoom but am uncertain if I should continue on the current path or start the next path.  It could be useful to bookmark the location to be able to continue zooming until it is certain which path should have been taken, and return to the bookmarked location if appropriate.

I know the problem. As a workaround, save the location and image. Can be done pretty fast with the keyboard (ctrl-a for save as, ctrl-j for save image).
