Mandelbrot set, Fractal eXtreme.

This is a work in progress, but I need to put it away for some time. While perhaps not the most original motif or the best color scheme I've come up with, it's certainly the piece I've put the most effort into. I don't know how many hours I've spent fine-tuning it, although that probably says more about my skills and efficiency than the quality of the work.

Unfortunatley I cannot render large images with this color setup, but click through for 1080p.
Edit: This image is now 8x8 AA. Click here for a larger, 6x6 AA version.

Awesome palette! Any chance you got it in a rgb format?

Thanks. smiley I'm not sure what you mean by RGB "format" (bear with me, I'm a novice at this). I only use Fractal eXtreme, and I am mostly only familiar with functions and terminology from that program. The palette is of course based on RGB. It is also a striped palette, with 128 (IIRC) different colors, some of which are not shown in the image and thus are not tuned. I can give you the palette file if you want it, although I have no idea if it can be accessed by any other means than through FX, or would make any sense applied to other motifs.

Edit: I managed to create a 8x8 AA version by rendering four zoomed-in quarters of this fractal. The image in the first post should now reflect this. I also added a link to a larger, 6x6 AA version.

I dont remember if you can save the palette in fractal extreme, but if you do, can you upload that file?! That would be very helpful!

@Kallisti
228 colours in FX's palette.
Thats because it was created back in the days of 256 colour VGA display adapters and windows needed those other 28 colours.

@superheal
I have "Heaps" of FX palettes in my Mediafire folder http://www.mediafire.com/folder/kkqdg8djtsbci//Fractal%20Extreme%20Movies%20Palettes%20Utils

superheal: Send me a PM with your e-mail address.

PanzerBoy: I should mention that all my multicolored palettes are based on yours. I learned this by downloading and modifying them. I think I've come to a point where I've tweaked each color now, but I might post zoom movies in the future where parts of the spectrums still contain long strings of your configurations. Thanks a lot for providing them, they have been very helpful!

wow! great work on the palette there indeed! I can see the difference between a pic 'just snapped' and this, spending lots of work on it..

Hey Panzerboy, do you by any chance mind to upload some colour palettes for kalles fraktaler?
I enjoy your movies a lot, and keep wondering how you come up with such great palettes, what they look like - mine never turn out so beautiful..

@Chillheimer

No worries, heres the link.

The palette used in my "Contrary Motion" video is p32d45l18
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/QYd1ihhK8bE&rel=1&fs=1&hd=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/QYd1ihhK8bE&rel=1&fs=1&hd=1</a>

"Colour flood" uses palette p1024wcgyrmbk
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/sjj-9RrB6yo&rel=1&fs=1&hd=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/sjj-9RrB6yo&rel=1&fs=1&hd=1</a>

The palettes starting p1024 with different sequences of the letters kbcgyrmw are different colour sortings sortings of a full 1024 colour palette.
The files with HSL are sorted by hue with varying saturation and luminance as similar to the "contrarary motion" palette
