While browsing the 'new message' list of sci.fractals, I discovered a link to this interesting forum. Maybe it is a good idea to introduce myself:

My name is Stijn Wolters (age: 33) and I'm from The Netherlands. I'm interested in fractals since 1990, and programming since the early 80's.

I've written some applications regarding fractals: Funiter (Function Iteration) and OCMJG (Obfuscated C Mandelbrot-/Julia-set Generator):

Funiter is developed in the context of courses at the university of Nijmegen, for highschool students who have a special interest in beta-studies. In 1999 the 2.1 version was released on my webpage. Since then there were periods when I didn't work on the project at all (there was no 'support' from the university anymore), but in 2001 I decided to rewrite all code and release it under the GPL. The future plans are adding a modern userinterface and attractive features to the program, while still preserving that which (I hope) makes it a didactically sound piece of software. I must admit that I could use some help with that in the form of feedback (suggestions) from experienced math teachers/didactics, and students.

One important remark: though 3.0.0 might give the impression that it is the most recent (Windows) release, 2.3.1 in fact is!

As for OCMJG, that's one big (working!) joke  smiley

Friendly regards,
Stijn Wolters.
