Thanks to cKleinhuis, who straightened out my many abortive attempts to register on this forum!
I'm somewhat oldish, recently retired, live in the Willamette valley of Oregon, northwest USA, and have been playing with fractals for several years.  My favorite 2d program is Fractal Explorer -- UltraFractal bewilders me.  I also use POV-Ray DAZ Studio, Sterling, Tierazon, and recently discovered Mandelbulb3d.  I am continually astounded by the generosity of the brilliant people who donate their time and effort to provide such powerful tools for the benefit of duffers like me!  Looking forward to lurking and learning, and may eventually be sufficiently emboldened to post an image or two (but no more than three).

Welcome, dhill,

Be sure to not only lurk 'n' learn, but also show! A little word of warning: Mandelbulb 3D can be addictive...
