I am a landscape painter that discovered fractals researching the patterns light makes coming through the trees.  I knew it wasn't random I just didn't understand the math behind it.  I am just starting to learn about fractals and very excited about it.  I get a lot of odd looks from friends. :0)  If anyone has specific information about applying and interpreting fractal patterns in the existing landscape I would like to hear from you.

Welcome to Fractal Forums, Timothy! The landscape paintings on your website are wonderful.

Perhaps you'll get ideas for your paintings by understanding the mathematical construction of some simple fractals. As a start, you might take a look at Wikipedia's article on the Pythagoras tree.

I hope you'll find that these forums have a lot to offer you.
