END OF AN ERA, FRACTALFORUMS.COM IS CONTINUED ON FRACTALFORUMS.ORG

I was introduced to the mandelbrot set around the late 1980s to early 1990s.  At that time I had a BBC Micro computer (Model B) and had a subscription to a magazine called Disc User.  The magazine came with a floppy disk (5.25") with various user submitted programs on it, and one of those programs was a series of fractal images. Due to the limited size of a floppy and the size of the images there weren't many supplied, and no program to draw them.

Fast forward a few years to an Amstrad 286 PC with VGA graphics and the mighty FractInt, where I really only played about, and I only purchased Fractal eXtreme within the last 8 years and joined the forum.  Since then I've been an occasional dabbler, but I have tried to make new formulae in FractInt and then have them replicated within Fractal eXtreme, and a few of them have been converted over to Kalles Fraktaler.

I have also within the last year written a very slow Mandelbrot explorer on the ZX Spectrum computer in BASIC which implements various dithering modes, zoom rectangle, etc.  I posted about it on the forum at some point.

I like to keep my mind active, and one day I hope to find more exciting fractals.  Will have to think up more imaginative names for them though.
