Hi All --
I've been interested in fractals even before there were programs like Fractint.
As a veteran of many well-planned, purposeful LSD experiences (30+ years ago), I immediately recognized
something quite familiar with their structures when I first saw them in a book. They certainly reminded me of
some the exquisite internal visualizations I had seen. Years later I started playing around with Fractint.
Boy, those were the days. One pixel line at a time. Dot by dot. =) A week later: Wow! An image.
I'm in awe of some of the math geeks here; for I am not. But I can tweak a formula, and after so many
years playing around with fractals, I have a good base understanding.
In more recent years I haven't played with fractals as much; that is until a couple of days ago when I
saw a post somewhere which led to bib's Singular Box 2, a Mandelbulb animation on YouTube. That led
to a two-day intense study of what has happened over the last couple of years, and more specifically
Daniel White's startling discovery. And bib was very kind to mention joining the Fractal Forums.
The Unravelling of the Real 3D Mandlebulb
http://www.skytopia.com/project/fractal/mandelbulb.htmlI've started playing with Mandelbulb 3D and Mandelbulber with some of the same excitement and
enthusiasm I had in the early days. My interest now is exploring some of the fascinating and wonderful
"virtual worlds" which Mandelbulb "landscapes" offer. Also want to try my hand at formula tweaking and
some animated fly-throughs, though I doubt I'm going to be doing many 120 hour renders like Buddhi has!
I'm very happy to find this community. Below are two fractal images. The first I generated tonight using
Mandlebulb 3D (parameter file attached) and another I did several years ago when I was using the
clever Tierazon program.
