the sphere (IFS with heigtmap) (distorted) has an "spaceship" texture/heightmap like this:

"simple" create some rectangles in Phothoshop/Gimp ... with different greyvalues

u can also map the face/heightmap on
CylinderHMVoid, CylinderHeightMap
SphereHMVoid, SphereHeightMap
(TorusHMVoid) - ...

but, if u use the HeightMapIFS the endless plane covers the rest/background. Perhaps theres a way to do it, but i dont know - not yet.

What we need is a "plane oder cube HeightmapIFS" with ajustable size.

I think u should try it with the sphere

ah...

- save the picture sequenz in your map folder:

example
1000.png
1001.png
...
1499.png

- set first image in map nr in the heightmap formula (1000)
- make an animation keyframe
- set last number in map nr in the heightmap formula (1499)
- make the second ani keyframe

set the number of images as number of subframes between keyframe one and two

key one = 1.499
key two = 1

i set "subframe interpolation" to "linear"

nice, that animation mode is simple and effective wink i was thinking about including an animated sequence but was not sure if mb3d can handle it, but it is obviously just a (integer) number that can be animated as well
