Yes, expect it in a few weeks. The current limit of 3700 is caused by an optimization that breaks around 3710 zooms.

Been using it. I'm blown away by how fast it is.  Also looking forward to the >3700 Zooms update.

One issue I am having is that the software doesn't seem to do any additional guesses to fill in missing data. I'm aware that with perturbation theory, iterations cannot be rendered deeper than the reference pixel. Most of the zoom sequences I do don't contain large bulbs (Typically due to close encounters with Minibrots - I think bulbs can be a bit ugly anyway) so it's not a big deal. The workaround is to zoom sufficiently into the centroid then manually zoom back out so that the reference pixel in the center of the image has sufficiently deep iteration count to render the image.

However that "zoom deeper and back out" technique doesn't work very well when I'm actively exploring a region or taking a detour. It can be downright frustrating for example if I'm trying to zoom into an inflection point on a dentrite, and if I click or zoom slightly outside the dendrite it completely disappears.

Just thought I'd throw that out in the event you are able to work something in. The software could add reference points as needed to fill in the dead zones. Fraktaler does this even if it's slower and unoptimized.

Just some food for thought. I'm still loving using it even if there are random crashes (save often).

The automatic solving of glitches was active in previous versions, but I switched it off because it was incompatible with features introduced in 1.2. That's why it is called a beta version (see changelog at http://web.t-online.hu/kbotond/mandelmachine/#changelog). I am working on it, but still need some weeks to finish. Anyway, I plan to release another beta next week with auto glitch solving still disabled, that will contain the improvements made during the summer.

If you encounter crashes on a regular basis, please let me know the details. Also be aware of the known issues described in the changelog, the most important being the application may hang when adjusting a parameter during calculation - always cancel the calculation first with the Esc key before changing a parameter.

Can you use a technique like the Java version of SFT ? Where all of the gadgets and menus are ghosted/inactive, except for the cancel button, while a render is in progress ?

I'm currently carving my way through using Kalles Fraktaler 2 but if there's another software app comparable to Mandel Machine, I'd like to use that instead. Kalles Fraktaler 2 has a few glaring issues that make it clunky to render finished images. For starters, the aspect ratio seems to be pegged at 16x9 and there doesn't seem to be a way to rotate the image to fit onscreen, especially if it's an oblong shape which as Murphy's law dictates, that the shape wil be vertically aligned instead or horizontal.

I am not sure that Mandel Machine will be able to keep all it's optimizations if it is to utilize Pauldelbrot's glitch detecting method and render reliable images.
The many terms for SA may hide the glitch detection conditions, even though I don't think so.
The skipping of small add-ends may also hide it.
So does also the expanded loops.
32 seconds for Magnus opus is really mind blowing, but that is also a special location. If you want a general explorer that is able to zoom near several minibrots you really need the glitch detecting.

Yes, that image was rendered with standard double precision, no perturbation. Did you have all computation parameters in Automatic setting?

MM detects the available CPU instruction sets, but does not check operating system support. Will be fixed in the next release.

Unshit! You can still go to micro$oft's website someplace and download the service pack for a manual install. It's usually done that way for offline computers, so if you have concerns it will trigger something unwanted, just install the service pack while offline.

I trolled around their site looking, but they don't make it obvious, so maybe a more determined search will turn it up...
